Schiavo: Officially Brain Dead

The autopsy results are in and if you had any doubt, you should wonder about the size of your own brain.

We should all note the importance of maintaining one's potassium levels!--ANIQUE! Anyway, the question for me is what do we do in such a situation, I mean I know my brain is already half-shriveled but if someone pulled the plug on me I would be pissed!

On a more serious note this story just goes to prove that people cover things up in the news, i felt as though this story had more implicit statements then explicit facts.

But other than that I don't know what to say about it.

I think what was always most interesting to me about this story were the "implicit statements" (read: incredible ironies) of the case:
1)her brain damage was allegedly caused by an eating disorder--which very few news reports actually stated;
2)the same government that is HELL BENT on defining and "respecting" marriage as a legal union between man and woman, wouldn't validate one husband's wishes--and the alleged wishes of Terri Shiavo--for his wife;
3)the explicit irony of the misnomer "culture of life" in this case; and lastly,
4)the fact that the Schiavo parents were LARGE donors to Florida Governor Jeb Bush's campaign.

So many things left unsaid that I think would (or should) have added significantly to the national discussion regarding this case. Perhaps my largest compliant goes out to the many news organizations who refused to complicate the story with these insights--revealed by lesser-known and arguably more credible news organizations--for fear of castigation.
