U.S. barred from new Human Rights Council

Well, that's what would have to happen if John Bolton, US Ambassador to the UN, got what he wanted: "The current situation is untenable and must not be allowed to continue," Bolton said, according to a copy of his written text. "Membership on the [Human Rights] Commission by some of the world's most notorious human rights abusers [he's NOT talking about the US] mocks the legitimacy of the Commission and the United Nations itself." Wow! One would think Mr. Bolton wasn't familiar with the concept of irony.
