If Republican state legislator Troy Woodruff has his way, having or performing an abortion in the state of Indiana would be a Class C felony.
[Woodruff] has filed a bill (HB 1096) that would make abortion illegal in the state unless continuing the pregnancy to term would cause "substantial permanent impairment of the life or physical health of the pregnant woman," Lucky for everyone, the liklihood of the bill passing is slim given it's a short legislative session, but the absurdity of politicians has got to stop. Bans on gay marraige, gestational certificates, and no reproductive choice. Could these people please get a clue?!?
